Bank ABC in Jordan Issues its First Sustainability Report

​Bank ABC in Jordan issued its first sustainability report for the year 2023, marking a turning point in its journey towards integrating sustainable practices into its operations. This report highlights the Bank’s achievements and full commitment to integrating the principles of environmental, social and institutional governance into its business model. It follows the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, as well as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ​​and Amman Stock exchange guidelines. The Bank will also align with the Central Bank of Jordan’s direction toward Green Finance as outlined in CBJ’s Green Finance Strategy.

In this regard, the General Manager of Bank ABC in Jordan, Mr. George Farah Sofia, said: “In light of the increasing environmental pressure, Bank ABC in Jordan must integrate sustainability practices into its operations, and be fully equipped to support the economy, communities and customers effectively.” Mr. Sofia added: “In 2023, we identified the main sustainability issues relevant to Bank ABC in Jordan and stakeholders. The Bank has directed more investments towards supporting social initiatives across various sectors benefiting 1,410 beneficiaries with an investment of JOD360,630. These projects reflect our commitment to making a positive impact on society.”
